About the Author
Frederick M. Gross , an alumnus of the Kappa Theta Chapter of Alpha Omega Theta from Oceanside, New York, was inducted into AOT at the age of fourteen in 1978. After attending a reunion of the Oceanside chapter in 2004, Fred decided to build a website dedicated to his old high school fraternity. As the Webmaster of the fraternity’s website, www.alphaomegatheta.com, Fred Gross has accumulated an abundance of e-mails, stories, and anecdotes from members of various chapters, and he felt there was a story that needed to be told.
After organizing a Grand Chapter reunion in 2007 to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of AOT, Fred was inspired to write this book to document the history of Alpha Omega Theta and fraternity life on Long Island.
Fred Gross has lived on Long Island his whole life and resides there still with his wife and two children.
